Fenix L0D

One of the more interesting pieces of gear that has seen a lot of use lately here in Greenwoodistan is the Fenix L0D flashlight. For many years I carried a Mini-Maglight single AAA cell flashlight on my key chain, however lately I decided to upgrade my daily carry light to something a little more substantial. The Fenix throws out three light levels, in order the light turns on, medium, low, and high. The high setting rivals my Surefire E2E for light brightness. In addition, the Fenix has settings that blast SOS in Morse code and a strobe light in high settings.

Granted I put down $33 on my Fenix as opposed to the roughly $6 spent on a Mini-Maglite. The Lithium batteries the Fenix likes also run roughly twice what the normal alkaline batteries cost, however the cost is most definitely worth it for the added light and versatility of the Fenix. My Fenix has held up fine in the course of a year's use and still looks nearly new, as witnessed by these photos. I can recommend it highly.
